Responsibilities:
- Staff Supervision:
- Supervise and coordinate the work of cleaning staff, including cleaners, janitors, and custodians, assigning tasks and schedules to ensure adequate coverage and efficient operations.
- Provide training, coaching, and support to cleaning personnel, instructing them on proper cleaning techniques, equipment operation, and safety protocols.
- Work Planning and Allocation:
- Plan and prioritize cleaning tasks based on facility requirements, occupancy levels, and cleanliness standards, ensuring timely completion of all assigned duties.
- Allocate resources, such as cleaning supplies, equipment, and manpower, efficiently to maximize productivity and minimize downtime.
- Quality Assurance:
- Inspect work areas, restrooms, offices, and common areas regularly to assess cleanliness, sanitation, and compliance with established standards and specifications.
- Address any deficiencies or issues promptly, providing feedback and corrective action to cleaning staff to maintain high standards of cleanliness and hygiene.
- Equipment Maintenance:
- Ensure proper care, maintenance, and storage of cleaning equipment, tools, and supplies, performing routine inspections and repairs as needed to prolong their lifespan and effectiveness.
- Coordinate with facilities management or external vendors for equipment servicing, repairs, or replacement as required.
- Inventory Management:
- Monitor inventory levels of cleaning supplies, chemicals, and consumables, placing orders and replenishing stock as needed to maintain adequate supplies for cleaning operations.
- Manage storage and organization of cleaning materials, ensuring proper labeling, handling, and storage practices to comply with safety regulations.
- Safety and Compliance:
- Enforce safety policies, procedures, and regulations to minimize risks of accidents, injuries, or exposure to hazardous materials in the workplace.
- Conduct safety training sessions and toolbox talks for cleaning staff to promote awareness and adherence to safety protocols.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional education or certification in cleaning management or facilities management is an asset.
- Previous experience in cleaning, janitorial, or housekeeping roles, with demonstrated supervisory or leadership experience.
Skills:
- Strong leadership and interpersonal skills to motivate, coach, and develop cleaning staff.
- Knowledge of cleaning techniques, products, and equipment used in commercial or institutional settings.
- Attention to detail and ability to assess cleanliness standards and quality of work.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills to coordinate cleaning activities and interact effectively with clients, staff, and management.
