Responsibilities:
- Animal Care:
- Assist in the daily care of dairy cattle, including feeding, watering, and monitoring their health and well-being.
- Follow established protocols for handling and moving cattle safely within the farm premises.
- Recognize signs of illness or distress in cows and report any concerns to the farm manager or veterinarian.
- Milking Operations:
- Operate milking equipment and machinery to milk cows according to schedule, ensuring proper hygiene and milk quality.
- Monitor milk production levels and identify any issues with milking equipment or udder health.
- Clean and sanitize milking parlors, equipment, and storage tanks after each milking session to maintain sanitation standards.
- Herd Management:
- Assist with breeding activities, including heat detection, artificial insemination, and pregnancy checks under the guidance of farm management.
- Maintain accurate records of breeding, calving, and health-related information for each animal in the herd.
- Assist with the care of newborn calves, including feeding, vaccinations, and bedding management.
- Facility Maintenance:
- Perform routine maintenance tasks on dairy barns, equipment, and facilities to ensure cleanliness, safety, and operational efficiency.
- Keep barns, milking parlors, and feed storage areas clean and organized, removing waste and debris as needed.
