Responsibilities:
- Safe Driving: Operate commercial trucks to transport goods over long distances while adhering to traffic laws, safety regulations, and company policies.
- Route Planning: Plan and select the most efficient and safe routes, considering factors such as weather, traffic, and delivery schedules.
- Cargo Management: Inspect cargo to ensure it is securely loaded and properly balanced, and perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections on the truck and its equipment.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate records of hours worked, miles driven, fuel consumption, and other required documentation according to regulations.
- Communication: Maintain regular communication with dispatchers, customers, and colleagues to provide updates on delivery status and ensure smooth operations.
- Adherence to Regulations: Comply with all federal and state regulations governing the transportation of goods, including hours of service regulations and vehicle maintenance requirements.
Requirements:
- Valid commercial driver’s license (CDL) with a clean driving record.
- Proven experience (X years) as a Long Haul Truck Driver, demonstrating a commitment to safety and reliability.
- Strong knowledge of DOT regulations and road safety practices.
- Ability to handle long hours of driving and work independently for extended periods.
- Excellent communication skills and a customer-oriented approach.

- Load and unload goods
- Operate and drive straight or articulated trucks to transport goods and materials
- Oversee condition of vehicle and inspect tires, lights, brakes, cold storage and other equipment
- Perform pre-trip, en route and post-trip inspection and oversee all aspects of vehicle
- Receive and relay information to central dispatch
- Record cargo information, hours of service, distance travelled and fuel consumption
