Responsibilities:

Plumbing Installation and Repair:

• Install and repair plumbing systems, including pipes, fixtures, and appliances.
• Ensure proper water flow, drainage, and gas supply in buildings.
• Detect and troubleshoot plumbing issues and provide effective solutions.

Plumbing Maintenance:

• Conduct routine maintenance on plumbing systems to prevent problems and extend their lifespan.
• Inspect and test plumbing systems to identify potential issues.

Reading Blueprints and Diagrams:

• Interpret and follow blueprints and diagrams to plan and execute plumbing installations.
• Accurately measure and mark positions for pipe connections and fixtures.

Pipe Welding and Soldering:

• Perform welding and soldering tasks to join pipes and fittings securely.
• Use appropriate techniques and tools to ensure leak-free connections.

Compliance with Plumbing Codes and Regulations:

• Adhere to local plumbing codes and safety regulations in all plumbing work.
• Obtain necessary permits and inspections for plumbing projects.

Customer Interaction:

• Communicate with clients to understand their plumbing needs and concerns.
• Provide recommendations and explanations for plumbing solutions.

Emergency Services:

• Be available for 24/7 emergency plumbing services to address urgent plumbing issues.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Proven experience as a Plumber in residential or commercial settings.
• Successful completion of a plumbing apprenticeship or vocational training is desirable.
• In-depth knowledge of plumbing codes, regulations, and best practices.
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to diagnose plumbing issues accurately.
• Proficiency in using plumbing tools and equipment.
• Ability to read blueprints and diagrams.
• Physical stamina to work in various conditions and lift heavy objects.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.

Tasks

• Read blueprints, drawings and specifications to determine layout of plumbing system, water supply network and waste and drainage systems
• Install, repair and maintain domestic, commercial or industrial plumbing fixtures and systems
• Locate and mark positions for pipe connections, passage holes and fixtures in walls and floors
• Cut opening in walls and floors to accommodate pipe and pipe fittings
• Join pipes using couplings, clamps, screws, bolts, cement or soldering, brazing and welding equipment
• Determine piping system requirements and pipe sizing
• Measure, cut, thread and bend pipes to required shape and size
