Responsibilities:

Plumbing Installation and Repair:

• Install, repair, and maintain water supply lines, drainage systems, and plumbing fixtures.
• Install and connect appliances such as water heaters, dishwashers, and washing machines.
• Repair or replace damaged or leaking pipes, faucets, and fixtures.
• Inspect plumbing systems to identify issues and recommend appropriate solutions.

Plumbing Troubleshooting:

• Diagnose and troubleshoot plumbing problems in residential and commercial settings.
• Use plumbing tools and equipment to identify and resolve issues efficiently.
• Perform inspections to ensure compliance with plumbing codes and regulations.

Plumbing Maintenance:

• Conduct routine maintenance on plumbing systems to prevent problems and extend their lifespan.
• Clean drains and pipes to remove blockages and ensure smooth water flow.
• Test plumbing systems for leaks and repair any identified issues.

Customer Service:

• Communicate with customers to understand their plumbing needs and concerns.
• Provide excellent customer service and address any questions or inquiries professionally.
• Offer guidance and recommendations to customers on plumbing solutions.

Safety and Compliance:

• Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines to ensure a safe work environment.
• Comply with local and state plumbing codes and regulations.
• Utilize personal protective equipment (PPE) when necessary.

Documentation:

• Maintain accurate records of work performed, including parts used and time spent.
• Prepare service reports and provide necessary documentation to customers.

Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent; completion of a plumbing apprenticeship or vocational training is preferred.
• Proven experience as a Plumber in residential and/or commercial settings.
• Strong knowledge of plumbing systems, tools, and equipment.
• Understanding of plumbing codes and regulations.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical diagrams.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and customer service abilities.
• Physical stamina and ability to lift heavy objects.

Tasks

• Read blueprints, drawings and specifications to determine layout of plumbing system, water supply network and waste and drainage systems
• Install, repair and maintain domestic, commercial or industrial plumbing fixtures and systems
• Locate and mark positions for pipe connections, passage holes and fixtures in walls and floors
• Cut opening in walls and floors to accommodate pipe and pipe fittings
• Join pipes using couplings, clamps, screws, bolts, cement or soldering, brazing and welding equipment
• Test pipes for leaks using air and water pressure gauges
• Measure, cut, thread and bend pipes to required shape and size
