Responsibilities:
- Operate and drive commercial trucks to transport goods and materials to designated locations.
- Inspect the vehicle before and after each trip to ensure it is in proper working condition and report any maintenance issues.
- Secure cargo properly using straps, chains, and other necessary equipment to prevent shifting during transportation.
- Plan and follow specific routes, taking into consideration traffic conditions and delivery schedules.
- Load and unload cargo, ensuring it is done safely and efficiently.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of driving hours, distance traveled, and fuel consumption.
- Communicate with dispatchers, clients, and team members to provide updates on delivery status and address any issues.
- Adhere to all traffic laws, safety regulations, and company policies during transportation.
- Report any accidents, violations, or incidents to the appropriate authorities and the company’s management.
- Maintain a clean and organized truck interior and exterior.
Requirements:
- Valid commercial driver’s license (CDL) with the appropriate endorsements.
- Proven experience as a truck driver or a related position is preferred, but we welcome entry-level candidates with a CDL.
- Excellent driving record with no history of major traffic violations or accidents.
- Physical stamina and ability to handle long hours of driving and loading/unloading cargo.
- Familiarity with truck maintenance and troubleshooting common vehicle issues.
- Strong communication skills to interact with dispatchers, clients, and team members.
- Ability to stay alert, focused, and calm during long drives and challenging road conditions.
